Na Hang Lake, Tuyen Quang



Tuyen Quang Province is in cooperation with the Institute of Geosciences and Mineral Resources (MONRE) to build a research proposal to set up Na Hang – Lam Binh Geopark in Tuyen Quang. This proposal will be submitted to the Government for consideration to be the national geopark.


Accordingly, the proposed area to build the Na Hang – Lam Binh Geopark locating in the entire area of 12 villages and towns of Na Hang District and 8 communes of Lam Binh District with a total area of ​​1,647 sq. km. This place is considered a convergence of many natural ​​and cultural heritage values, especially the geological heritage.


In particular, this area possesses many caves which are home of prehistoric people such as Nguom Hau, Phia Muon and Phia Vai.


Along with the outstanding value of geological heritage, the proposed area also includes Na Hang Nature Reserve which contains outstanding value of biological resources. It is one of the 223 ecosystems having the highest biodiversity in the world.
