Nearly 200 photos, documents and objects capturing the life and revolutionary cause of five former Party General Secretaries are being introduced to the public at an exhibition in the Hanoi-based Hoa Lo prison.
The former Party chiefs include Nguyen Van Cu, Truong Chinh, Le Duan, Nguyen Van Linh and Do Muoi.
The exhibits feature biographies of the former leaders, showing their undaunted spirit while pursuing the revolutionary cause, even during days spent behind the bars set up by colonialism and imperialism.
Truong Minh Tien, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, said the leaders have set bright examples for other communists to follow.
With an iron will, they turned prisons into revolutionary schools where they popularised revolutionary ideals, the official said.
Assuming their post as the Party General Secretary, they made significant contributions to the struggle for national independence as well as the cause of national construction and defence, Tien noted.
The event takes place from January 20 until February 5.
