More buses to run on National Day
Director of Mien Dong (Eastern) Bus Station Kieu Nam Thanh said that the station is expected to serve more than 40,000 passengers on September 1. The company will increase nearly 100 buses on routes from HCMC to tourist attractions, such as Phan Thiet, Vung Tau, Nha Trang and Da Lat and vice versa that will see most passengers.

Meanwhile the number of travelers from Ho Chi Minh City to the Mekong Delta provinces, such as Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Can Tho, An Giang, Dong Thap and others will increase from 4-6 percent . The National Day on September 2 is expected to see 54,000-56,000 people. Coach fares on routes from Ho Chi Minh City to the Mekong Delta provinces will increase by about 40 percent higher than normal days.

In addition, Sai Gon Railway will add 11 more trains, including 5 Sai Gon-Phan Thiet trains and 6 Sai Gon-Nha Trang trains.

The Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Operation and Management Center under the city Department of Transportation will increase more than 1,000 buses on the National Day. Buses will be added to serve rising demand during the holiday on 14 routes, especially trips to popular attractions in the city such as Dam Sen Cultural Park, Suoi Tien Tourist Area, Sai Gon Zoo. The local authorities has also ordered a temporary freeze on issuing permits for digging roads and pavements between August 31-September 2.
