Villages in Lung Cu Commune

Tourists to the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang are highly recommended to drop by Dong Van District to admire the spectacular and poetic landscape there.

Located 200 km from Ha Giang City, Dong Van is known for its snaking mountainside paths. Lung Cu Commune is a must-see as it is home to the Lung Cu flag tower on top of Dragon Mountain on the border between Vietnam and China. Many tourists often try to get there to admire sunrise and take photos with the Vietnamese flag.

Mong and Lo Lo ethnic minority people in colorful traditional costumes usually hold bazaars at the foot of the mountain to sell many kinds of specialties. The next destination after Lung Cu is Dong Van Town which is well known for its ancient cultural traits. In cold weather at night, travelers should visit Dong Van ancient market to taste a cake made from buckwheat flower and banh troi made from brown sugar and sticky rice paste.

Another place worth visiting is Hanh Phuc (happiness) road which links Dong Van and Meo Vac townships. Travelers have to negotiate this dangerous road that runs along sheer cliffs and has blind curves.

Getting to the top of Ma Pi Leng Hill, nearly 2,000 m above sea level, tourists can see the beautiful Nho Que River in jade green color flowing from China to Vietnam.
