Embassy of Sweden launched photo contest “Vietnamese dads”

(Cinet)- A photo contest “Vietnamese Dads” was officially launched on the occasion of the International Women’s Day to raise public awareness of gender equality.

All Vietnamese citizens can to join the contest and deadline of submission on May 15, 2016.

The first, second and third prize will be worth VND10 million, 8 million and 7 million, respectively. While the first and the second prize will be selected by a jury board, the third prize will selected by a vote among the online community via Facebook. Entries should be sent to the Embassy of Sweden and can also be posted on Facebook under the hashtag Vietnamese Dads.

Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hoa, Deputy General Director of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s International Cooperation Department, said gender equality is key to the development of Vietnam and can positively contribute to the advancement of the country in the future.

She hopes the competition will contribute to promoting gender equality and encourage the sharing of responsibilities between spouses in Vietnamese families, including child care and household chores.
