(CPV) - The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued a program to organise 2016 National Tourism Year – Phu Quoc – the Mekong Delta. The 2016 National Tourism Year – Phu Quoc – the Mekong Delta, with the theme “Exploring the Southern Land”, will have main and state-scale activities organised in Kien Giang. On the sidelines, other activities will be organized in Hanoi, Thua Thien-Hue, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh city, Can Tho, Long An, Dong Thap, An Giang, Ca Mau, Bac Lieu, Soc Trang, Vinh Long, Tra Vinh, Tien Giang, Hau Giang and Ben Tre. (Photo: dantri.com.vn) The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism asked the Kien Giang provincial People’s Committee to coordinate with ministries, branches, people’s committee of other provinces and cities and relevant agencies to build plan to realize the 2016 National Tourism Year. The 2016 National Tourism Year is a typical cultural, economic and social event, contributing to raising awareness of branches, levels and people on tourism development in combination with island and sea resource protection and developing the sea and islands into the specific tourism products of Kien Giang and the Mekong Delta. Through the event, tangible and intangible cultural values, natural resources and special tourism products of Kien Giang and other localities are expected to be advertised in order to continue to attract domestic and foreign tourists./.
