(TITC) – Recently, Viet Nam Tourism Association coordinated with Kien Giang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to hold a training course on responsible tourism marketing for small and medium tourism businesses in Rach Gia City.

The training course had the attendance of EU- ESRT project experts and more than 30 trainees from tourism businesses in the locality.

Responsible tourism is an approach to the management of tourism aimed at maximizing economic, social and environmental benefits and minimizing costs to destinations. The distinguishing characteristic of the approach is the focus on the responsibility of role-players in the tourism sector, and destinations in general, to take action to achieve sustainable tourism development.

After this training course, Kien Giang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to coordinate with EU- ESRT project to hold other training courses on Homestay tourism in Kien Hai District and “Building policy and planning for responsible tourism” for managers of tourists sites in the province.
