Hue traditional singing recognized as national intangible cultural heritage Related image(s)
According to the Chief of Office of Thua Thien – Hue provincial People’s Committee Hoang Ngoc Khanh, the Ca Hue (Hue traditional singing) genre has been recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The performing art genre blends literature and music together in perfect harmony to create a poetic beauty. The genre formed and developed in Thuan Hoa-Phu Xuan (now Thua Thien – Hue ) more than three centuries ago. It has increasingly attracted domestic and foreign audiences. It is performed along the Huong River, in chambers and hotels in Hue city and at important cultural events. To improve the quality of Hue traditional singing to serve tourism, according to the province, each performance will last at least 60 minutes, which does not include interpretation. The provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has opened training courses on Hue traditional singing and allow nearly 500 artisans and musicians to participate in the singing performances. Teachers and students from the provincial College of Culture and Arts and non-professional singers also participated in training courses./. |
