Over 40 countries to participate in Vietnamese literature activities Related image(s)







According to poet Huu Thinh, Chairman of the Vietnam Writers’ Association, more than 40 countries and territories and more than 150 international authors, translators and literature researchers have registered to participate in the 3rd conference on popularizing Vietnamese literature.

Several countries, such as Cuba, South Africa, Brazil and Australia will send experts and translators to join the event for the first time.


Vietnamese literature will be introduced to international delegates as a symbol of the people’s desire for freedom, happiness and independence, added Mr. Thinh.


On February 2nd, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Writers’ Association held a press briefing on the 3rd conference on popularizing Vietnamese literature, the second Asia – Pacific Poetry Festival and the 13th Vietnamese Poetry Day.


Accordingly, the events will take place from March 1st to 7th in Hanoi, Quang Ninh and Bac Ninh provinces. The opening ceremony for the events will take place on March 2nd in Hanoi.

On the following day, two seminars will be held for the delegates to discuss the role of poetry and prose in the process of integration and development of the communities.


The highlight of the events will be a poetry reading at the Hanoi Opera House, where local and foreign poets will present their works.


On the occasion, the international delegates will visit the Vietnamese Literature Museum, where an exhibit on Vietnamese literature with foreign readers will be hosted. The delegates will also tour Ha Long bay, enjoy quan ho(love duets) in Bac Ninh province and visit the memorial house of Cao Ba Quat (1809-1955), a Vietnamese poet and revolutionary, in Gia Lam district, Hanoi./.
