Photo exhibition of the “old” Hanoi opens Related image(s)








As many of 100 photos of Hanoi ancient quarter from the late 19th century to the first half of the 20th century are on display at an exhibition which opened at Hanoi Ancient Center on February 2nd.


The exhibition is being held by the Hanoi Ancient Quarter Management Board in coordination with the Past and Present Magazine under the Vietnam History Association.


Together with photos on architecture of the 36 ancient streets in the past, the exhibition features the daily life of people in the area with special traditional cultural characteristics such as traditional hats and rickshaws.

Addressing the opening ceremony, historian, Duong Trung Quoc said that the exhibition helped public understanding and revealed document sources on the Hanoi ancient quarter.


This is also an opportunity for people in the capital city and tourists to look back at the history of 1000-year culture of Thang Long – Hanoi.


The exhibition will run until February 15th./.
