Indian sailor rescued to HCMC in coma

A sick Indian man was rescued from a boat off the southern town of Vung Tau and rushed to the nearby Ho Chi Minh City for treatment on Wednesday.

The Maritime Rescue Center for the southern region received may day calls from the cargo boat Ningpo Dawn on Tuesday afternoon when it was at 40 sea miles from Vung Tau beach town.

Pathaka Ramchandra, the 35-year-old crew member, was in a coma after having a fever.

Ningpo Dawn was on its way from South Korea to Thailand. It’s unclear where the boat is registered.
