Jason Rabedeaux, Saigon Heat’s coach, died at his home on Monday, the day after his team took fourth place at the Asian Basketball League Championship.

Rabedeaux, 49, died “abruptly” at his home in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 7, following “an accident,” the club’s website said without elaborating.

Relatives of the American coach said they found him lying unconscious on the floor of his home and rushed him FV Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Rabedeaux began coaching Vietnam’s first professional basketball team in 2012.

On September 21, the team defeated Indonesia’s Warriors 72-61 and advanced to fourth place after 13 games.
