Japanese enterprises promote investment in Mekong Delta

More than 40 Japanese enterprises will visit the Mekong Delta to scope out the investment environment and cooperation with local businesses on April 20-24.

The businesses operate in the seafood and agriculture industry, according to the Steering Committee for the Southwestern Region. The trip is hosted by the Mekong-Japan Economic Cooperation Committee and the Vietnam Embassy in Japan.


Japanese companies are invited to a seminar “Investment Environment and Cooperation Potential between Japan and the Mekong Delta” on April 21 in Can Tho City.


They will be able to visit the Hau River Farm in Can Tho, the Hau River Industrial Zone and Hi-tech Agricultural Zone in Hau Giang Province, processing plants in Dong Thap Province and businesses in Long An Province.


The trip is part of a cooperation program between Vietnam and Japan to boost investment in the Mekong Delta, said Nguyen Phong Quang, deputy head of the Steering Committee for the Southwestern Region.
