The offer was released at a press conference in Hanoi on April 18 held to explain the preparations being made for the UN Day of Vesak 2019.
The event will be organised at the Tam Chuc Buddhism Culture Centre, Kim Bang district, in the northern province of Ha Nam and is set to run between May 12 and 14.
With the theme “Buddhism’s Approach to Global Leadership and Shared Responsibilities for Sustainable Societies”, the event is expected to draw more than 1,400 international delegates from nations and territories around the globe.
Thich Duc Thien, deputy chairman and secretary general of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS), said the event provides a good opportunity to improve the image of Vietnam and its people whilst simultaneously showcasing the nation’s tourism potential to a host of international delegates.
The VBS has assigned local tour operator Vietravel with the responsibility of providing accommodation and transportation for delegates during the occasion.
The company had previously been involved in the organisation of the 2014 version of the event which was held in Ninh Binh province.
The deputy chairman and secretary general noted that the organizing board has sent invitations to all delegates to select five tours to go on. This includes three tours free of charge and two tours with charge.
Following the closing ceremony of the event, organisers will put on three free tours to Trang An-Bai Dinh, Yen Tu, Fansipan Sapa and two tours with charge to historic relic sites in Hanoi and Ha Long Bay.
