Vietjet Air issues official statement on its fleet

Currently, the carrier is operating Airbus A320s with their average operational time of 2.82 years, including the latest generation of A320-A321neo family.

Vietjet Air currently operates a fleet of Airbus A320s.

Vietjet stressed that all of its flights have complied with the regulations and met the international standards set out by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States (FAA) and the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV), including the approval of aircraft types for its operation.

Safety for passengers is always its highest priority. Now the company is closely watching the Boeing 737 MAX crash in Ethiopia. Its decisions on purchase of this type of aircraft will be made after the official conclusions and guidelines are released by the world’s aviation authorities and the CAAV.

Vietjet has well managed its fleet so far and its transport business plans stay unchanged, the statement stressed.

Previously, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) decided to nullify the granted licenses and not to grant new ones for flights using the Boeing 737 Max to enter Vietnam’s airspace.
