According to Ho An Phong, Director of Quang Binh provincial Department of Tourism, a tourism stimulus programme kicked off on December 20, providing international visitors with a 10% price discount on all tourist products and services in the locality for one month.
Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park will host a street arts and cuisine festival from December 28 to 31, featuring water puppetry performances, a music show, and food courts showcasing delicious indigenous dishes of the province. A count-down programme will also be staged there on the evening of December 31.
Meanwhile, a programme themed ‘Hoi An welcoming New Year 2019’ will be organised from December 24, 2018, to January 1, 2019, in Hoi An city.
During the programme, Nguyen Phuc Chu street will be colourfully decorated and booths will be set up along the street to bring a taste of Hoi An to vacationers. There will also be arts performances, a dance contest, and a Taekwondo exchange between athletes from Hoi An and the Republic of Korea.
A gala night will kick off at 21:30 on December 31 to bid farewell to 2018 and ring in New Year 2019.
In Da Nang city, the year-end season is a time for diverse events and activities such as the Festive Season at the Coco Bay coastal entertainment and hospitality complex, the winter spring in the Ba Na Hills tourism complex, and the Countdown Party at the 29 March Square in the downtown area of the city.
According to the city’s tourism department, Da Nang is expected to welcome more than 158,000 arrivals during the Christmas and New Year holidays, including nearly 91,500 foreigners.
