Ho Chi Minh City-based Tan Dinh Church becomes tourist destination

Built by the French between 1870 and 1876, the church was built in a Gothic architectural style featuring Roman-style designs.

The church, better known as the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, was painted with a vibrant pink colour on both the exterior and interior, drawing great attention from passersby and those visiting from abroad.

The church is just a short walk from Tan Dinh Market, which has existed for nearly 100 years and houses a food court and thousands of stalls selling groceries, clothing, footwear, fruit and textiles.
