58 new caves discovered in Phong Nha Ke Bang

Mr Tinh noted that some of the new caves are large and valuable. The park’s staff has surveyed several caves and will soon examine the remaining caves.

After a preliminary survey, the Park will hand over the list of these caves for the British Cave Research Association to conduct an in-depth survey in the future, he said.

Quang Binh now has a total of more than 350 caves, which have been discovered over the past 25 years. More than 30 of the caves have been exploited for tourism activities, especially the most famous caves such as En Cave and the world’s largest cave, Son Doong.

According to foreign expert Howard Limbert from the British Cave Research Association, Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park has many caves, which remain to be discovered and explored.
