Vietnam attends the 24th Moscow International Travel and Tourism Exhibition
The Hanoitimes – A Vietnamese delegation is participating in the 24th Moscow International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (MITT – 2017) which is being held from March 14-16 in Russia.
The fair drew nearly 2,000 travel agencies from 182 countries and territories across the world.
Vietnam has regularly joined the exhibition in the recent years, thus making a significant contribution to promote the country’s tourism sector.
Vietnam’s booth introduced information on tourist attractions and activities of National Tourism Year 2017 in the northwestern region.

Representatives from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism and the national-flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, along with seven travel companies of Vietnam were participated in the event.
Musical performances and traditional dishes were on show at the booth.
During the exhibition, the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia in collaboration with the VNAT held a press conference to introduce Vietnam’s tourism products and destinations.
Addressing the press conference, Head of the VNAT’s Tourism Marketing Department Dinh Ngoc Duc emphasised that the partnership of Vietnam and Russia has developed over the past years in various fields, including tourism.
According to statistics of VNAT, in 2015-2016, the number of Russian tourists to Vietnam increased about 25.6 percent.
More than 118,000 Russian visitors travelled to Vietnam in the first two months of 2017 alone, an increase of 192 percent year-on-year, making Russia the European country with the largest number of tourists to Vietnam.
The fair runs for three days from March 14. It has been held annually since 1994.
The MITT 2017 makes a chance to further promote Vietnam’s tourism in Russia, one of the key market of the country’s sector.
