Various Vietnam records to be announced next year – Food – Travel

The Hanoi Times – Many Vietnamese records will be announced in 2009, through a project seeking records in 63 provinces and cities of Vietnam, stated the Vietnam Record Book Centre (Vietkings).

The 15th Meeting of Vietnamese Record Holders will be held o­n January 4, 2009 at the HCM City-based Dam Sen Park. At the meeting, the Club of Vietnamese Record Makers will be introduced for the first time, in addition to approximately 30 new records.

The Club of Vietnamese Record Makers will have the participation of famous people, like Lieutenant General Pham Tuan (the first Vietnamese go to space), Professor Tran Van Khue, Honored Artist Ho Kieng, writers Mac Can and Nguyen Nhat Anh, sculptor To Sanh, and teacher Nguyen Ngoc Ky (who writes and does everything by his feet).

At this year’s end, the Hanoi flower festival, from December 31 to January 4 o­n Dinh Tien Hoang Street, some flower-related records will be made, including a huge flower gate and flower fan (12m diameter, 4.5m high), a flower dragon (4m high, 15m long), and a pottery street (50m long, 0.8m high).

In January 2009, three records will be made at the Dam Sen Park, including: the largest vegetarian pizza, the largest roasted cinnamon pork, and the largest rice soup bowl.

The Vietnam Record Book Centre has proposed to recognize a poem by Pham Dan Que as a poem that can be read in various manners (nearly 2,000 manners of reading). This poem was performed for the first time o­n the death anniversary of the great poet Nguyen Du in BienHoaCity, DongNaiProvince in 2007.

On Saturday, December 6, Vietkings recognized a 10m barbecued meat rack as the highest of its kind in Vietnam. This jack was made by 4.8kg of beef, 3.6kg of chicken, 2.5kg of sausage, 3kg of ham, and vegetables. This was the product of 15 chefs at a food festival in Van Thanh Tourist Site, HCMCity.

On Sunday, Vietkings presented the certificate of Vietnam record to a pair of dragon at the TranNhanTongKingTemple in the central city of Hue.
