Hanoi tourism sector achieves an impressive growth in 2015 – Attractions – Travel

The Hanoi Tourism Association held a conference to review the city’s tourism in 2015 and orientations in 2016 at the Vietnam Ethnic People Culture – Tourism Village On December 22.
Vietnam General Department of Tourism said that the number of international visitors to Vietnam in the first 11 months of 2015 is estimated to reach 7.1 million arrivals, down 2% compared with the same period of 2014.
Meanwhile, the statistics of Hanoi Department of Tourism showed that the number of foreign visitors to Hanoi in 2015 is estimated to achieve an impressive growth reaching around 3.4 million arrivals, up 12% compared to the same period last year.
The number of domestic tourists to Hanoi in 2015 is estimated to reach 16.4 million arrivals, up 6%. The total revenue from tourism is estimated at 55.5 billion VND, up 11.48%.

The market share of international visitors to Hanoi in 2000 – 2010 period accounted for 30% of the national share, and 38% during 2014-2015.
The impressive results of the municipal tourism were mainly attributed to significant contribution of Hanoi Tourism Association.
Chairman of Hanoi Tourism Association Nguyen Quang Lan said, in 2015, the association advised the State authorities to issue many guidelines and policies in accordance with tourism development such as the decision to re-establish the municipal Tourism Department, the policy issuing free visas for citizens of some countries visiting to the country.
The association developed and completed the outline and content of teaching training programs and hotel professional training.
Besides, the association collaborated and signed the memorandums to cooperative tourism development with the associations of local tourism across the country, including: Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, 8 Northwest provinces, Binh Thuan, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, HCM City and the Mekong Delta provinces. It also organized many delegations to survey new travel routes and destinations.
In order to attract more visitors to the capital, in 2016, the association will cooperate with the agencies and units to hold tourism delegations to survey domestic markets, as well as foreign markets such as China, Dubai, Russia, South Africa, Argentina.
In addition, the association will coordinate with the Hanoi Tourism Department to organise some courses to add knowledges of hotel and tourism operations for drivers and staffs.
