The Hanoitimes – Photographer Ly Hoang Long won the second prize in the category named “One Shot-One Moment” in the 2014 edition of the Travel Photographer of the Year.
The winning images in the 15 categories will be exhibited at the Royal Geographical Society in London from July 24 to September 5, 2015.

Johnny Haglund from Norway won the One Shot-One Moment category with his photo of four locals standing amidst the dynamic movement of the surrounding environment in Kinshasa, Congo.
Travel Photographer of the Year is an international photography awards held annually for both amateur and professional photographers of all ages who have passion on travel photography.
Established in 2003, until now, the awards have quickly become one of the world’s most prestigious photography awards, attracting photographers from more than 100 countries and international judging panel including comprised photographers, editors, picture editors, photo procurers and stock photography and digital imaging experts from Germany, Italy, New Zealand, and South Africa, as well as Sri Lanka, the United Kingdom and the United States.
As for the category “One shot – One moment”, the photographers can select any object, human beings or scene, but the most important thing is that they are special moments of travel journey.
What the judges expect in this category are unforgettable moments which make people stop and feel the need to retain the moments.
The most important prize of the contest – the 2014 edition of the Travel Photographer of the Year was awarded to British photographer Philip Lee Harvey with his submission of a number of high-quality portfolios in different categories.
His photos capture portraits of Himba tribe in Namibia and the stone church in the city of Lalibela, Ethiopia.
Two topics which Harvey selected is nothing new but according to the judges, his photos are very impressive and aesthetic.
Seventeen-year-old Samuel Fisch from the United States won the Young Travel Photographer of the Year award.
Georgia Mulholland from Australia won the 15-18 Years Old – Destinations award.
Indonesian photographer Michael Theodric, 12, won the 14 Years Old and Under – Destinations award.
