HÀ NỘI – The Việt Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) will launch a new website to promote Vietnam tourism abroad during World Travel Market which will be held in London this coming Tuesday.
The new website, http://bit.ly/2faqCLH, is expected to be among the top 10 best tourism websites in the world, thanks to its professionalism, rich content, and beautiful photos.
Tourists and those interested in traveling in Việt Nam will find articles about different regions of Việt Nam and activities they can pursue in the country, written by well-known tourism bloggers and journalists worldwide.
Videos highlighting major tourist attractions of Việt Nam and useful information about visiting the country will also be available on the website.
The website is available mostly in English. It is connected to social networks, including Facebook, Instagram and Youtube, allowing visitors to share travel information about Vietnam with others easily. It is expected to attract about 10 million visits per year and 1 million visits per month.
The site is expected to attract more foreign tourists to Việt Nam.
In an effort to attract even more foreign tourists from all countries, Việt Nam will also grant e-visas to foreigners, starting on January 1, 2017. The new e-visas will be valid for 30 days. Tourists who apply for an e-visa will not need an invitation letter or a letter of guarantee from Việt Nam.
“The decision to grant online visas to foreign tourists is a breakingthrough for the Vietnamese government in its policies to develop tourism”, Nguyễn Văn Tuấn, VNAT’s General director, said at a press conference on Friday. “We are doing our best to make tourism a key industry for our economy by 2010,” he said.
During the first ten months of this year, Việt Nam attracted more than 8 million foreign visitors, an increase of 25.4 per cent over the same period last year. The tourism sector in Việt Nam expects to attract 9.7 million foreign tourists and 62 million domestic tourists in 2016.
During the last two months of this year, VNAT will organise various shows to promote tourism in nine cities in China and Spain and participate in two tourism fairs in London and China, to further promote the country’s tourism. It will also organise conferences to promote tourism in the Centre of Việt Nam to help Central provinces restore their tourism development after the recent environmental disasters.-VNS
