Railway-airway Tourism: New Experience for Tourists

To quickly introduce affordable and standard tourism products, the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association, the Hanoi Tourism Association, the Hanoi Railway Transport Joint Stock Company and the Vietnam Airlines Corporation (VNA) recently signed a cooperation agreement on railway and airway tourism stimulus programme.
Airway and railway tourism stimulate programme will be soon deployed after the successful connection and cooperation of airway and railway firms and this will bring in exciting travel experiences to tourists.
While the railway sector is improving passenger service quality to build a completely new image and the tourism sector is also seeking to have enjoyable transportation services for tourists, the cooperation in deploying railway tourism will give new experiences to travellers.
At a recent meeting on airway and railway tourism cooperation signing, Mr Pham Tien Dung, Secretary General of UNESCO Hanoi Travel Club, said, airway and railway tourism experience is very exciting not only because of the appeal of destinations. Railway travelling helps tourists explore the beauty of landscapes through train windows. The railway travelling by tourists is now quite high because of affordable prices, high safety and limited nausea. For a tour with hundreds of people, the rail service is the No. 1 choice.
“This is good news for travel companies before goodwill and innovation of the railway sector to meet travellers’ demands. With a lot of advantages like having many stops along the route, carrying a large number of visitors at a time and having reservations for tourists, the rail transport is now a safe option for travellers,” said Mr Nguyen Trung Quan from Haraco Travel Company.
Recently, the railroad sector has renovated and modernised onboard equipment and service. However, according to some participants at the meeting, the sector necessarily pays attention to arranging water closets, providing foods and drinks on trains and cooperating in providing extra services at railway stations.
Particularly, it is necessary to boost advertisement and marketing to tourists, adopt more flexible pricing policies, and open more ticket booking offices to provide easier access for customers.
