The house only has space for five members in the family to sit together. Its rental fee is VND3 million per month and Vu and his family have lived here for six years

A triangle-shape house covering an area of two or three square meters at the foot of Chanh Hung Bridge in HCMC’s District 8 is home to Nguyen Phi Vu’s family with five members. As the house is too tiny and narrow so people in the family have to alternately sit or stand to give spaces for others to sleep. Vu has to use the external space for cooking and storage and place for kids to study. Even he has to put an altar of the Earth God outside as the house is too tiny.

Vu and his wife do many jobs like repairing vehicles, selling sugarcane drinks, and driving motorbike taxi to send his children to school

There is a wooden mezzanine inside the house and people use the stairs to store their stuff
