Tour operators have shared a view that there are small numbers of Vietnamese visitors to Europe and Europeans travelers to Vietnam in the current low season.

Doan Thi Thanh Tra, manager of Saigontourist’s PR department, told the Daily on the phone on Monday, “Two groups of nearly 50 people from France have canceled tours to Vietnam. There are four groups of French tourists who will return their home tonight may change their schedule due to flight cancellations.”

Ta Thi Cam Vinh, outbound section manager of Ben Thanh Tourist, said, “On April 18, a group of Vietnamese tourists canceled tours to France and Italy, and at the end of this month, there will be another group.”

Ngo Thanh Nga, inbound section manager of Ben Thanh Tourist, said, “There will be no groups traveling from Europe to Vietnam this month. Now is the low season, so domestic travel agencies are not affected by the Iceland volcanic ash cloud which prompted European airspace closures.”

Duong Thanh Hung, deputy chairman of G7 Travel Group, said just four groups of tourists from France canceled tours to Vietnam.

Viet Media Travel has no guests visiting Europe, while Vietravel will organize Europe tour at April 30, the country’s reunification holiday.

Most of the other travel firms have no guests affected by flight cancellations in Europe at the moment.
