International Travel Expo kicks off in Southern hub

PANO – The Ho Chi Minh Municipal Department of Tourism, in association with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), kicked off the 12th International Travel Expo (ITE HCMC 2016) on September 7 in the city.

The three-day fair features 280 booths of travel agencies, airlines, hotels and resorts, and tour companies from 22 countries, such as Cambodia, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Netherlands, the Philippines, Russia, to name a few. It is expected to draw over 30,000 visitors.

At the opening ceremony, the organizing panel presented the Mekong International Awards to five travel brand names from five countries in the sub-Mekong region (including Cambodia, Lao, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam). The awards were to acknowledge their contributions and achievements in the tourism sector.
