UN Human Rights Council’s annual meeting on Syrian crisis and refugees

(VOVworld) – The UNHRC annual meeting opened on Monday in Geneva, Switzerland discussing Syrian crisis, refugees, and response to violent extremism.

Didier Burkhalter, Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, stressed the importance on political solutions to the Syrian conflicts, adding that the participants of the cessation of hostilities have to comply the agreements. He also urged the UN to provide further humanitarian support to ease the pain of Syrian people.

Burkhalter stated that the European refugees mass is a real threat, but it is necessary to respect the rights of the refugees.
