PANO – 11 Vietnamese teams will compete in Shell Eco-Marathon (SEM) Asia 2016 to be held in Manila, the Philippines, from March 3rd to 6th. This is the sixth time Vietnam will take part in the SEM Asia.

The event is expected to draw over 100 teams from Asia, the Middle East and Africa to showcase, test and drive their self-built energy efficient vehicles on the host’s streets. Prizes will be presented to cars that run the farthest with a single liter of fuel.
The race encourages students to study and apply advanced technology to using energy and alternative fuels, and aims to educate youths about environment protection.
Last year, team LH-Gold Energy from Lac Hong University ranked first and set a new record in the Alternative Fuel event in the Urban Concept category, with 164km per liter of ethanol.
