To create breakthroughs in educational activities and steer schools towards innovation, global integration, in the 2015-2016 school year, Phu Yen provincial Education sector has taken many new ways with liberal nature, showing the bravery of daring to think, daring to do.

Director of Phu Yen Department of Home Affairs, Mr. Dang Le Tien, let known: “2015 was the first time the PPC had held the teacher officer recruitment exam under professional titles. The exam board was surprised at the number of nearly 2,000 candidates registering for recruitment, while recruiting staffing norms was only 1,020″. Although restless with competing, the contestants were eager because this is the first time when recruiting teachers was held openly based on assessing the applicants’ capacity.

On the day of receiving the decision on teaching physical education at Nguyen Van Linh high school (Dong Hoa district), Pham Thi Thanh Linh in An Linh commune, Tuy An district, excitedly said, “I participated in the teacher examination under the exceptional type because I graduated with flying-colors from the Sport Pedagogy University in Ho Chi Minh City. Despite inconveniences due to residing in An Linh commune, Tuy An district, working in Dong Hoa district, I think I will fulfill my tasks”.

Besides screening the input for teachers, the education sector made a breakthrough in implementing renewal in testing and evaluating students’ learning results in order to improve the education quality. For the first time, the Department of Education and Training held simultaneously the first semester test of the 2015-2016 school year for students in grade 9 and 10 throughout the province according to the common test by the Department to assess the quality of teaching and learning in each school. All exam questions are chosen from the provincial electronic exam bank under the theme “Researching and building the electronic exam bank for Phu Yen Secondary Education in the period of 2015-2020″ with Dr. Pham Van Cuong, Director of the Department of Education and Training as chairman.

This new way receives great consensus from the majority of educational administrators, teachers and students agree. Eminent Teacher Quach Dinh Cong, Principal of Hung Vuong Secondary School, said that it was one of the common examinations with largest scale for 9-grade students in the province. All the stages of surveying, evaluate the examination results were carried out under the direction of Department of Education and Training. It is a breakthrough to help schools with the objective and authentic recognition for quality of teaching and learning of each unit. Based on this result, each school will have the specific ways and methods for teaching to improve efficiency, quality of teaching and learning.

Currently, the Department of Education and Training has advised and received the agreement of the PPC to hold the entrance exam for 10^th grade for the 2016-2017 school year in the key high school in city, town and districts where a large number of candidates register the enrollment. Real school, real competition is intimately related issues to the quality of education, the competence of each student.
