THANH HOA (VNS) – Vietnamese and Chinese biologists discovered a new kind of plant on Wednesday at Thanh Hoa‘s Xuan Lien Nature Reserve.
Aristolochia xuanlienensis, named after the reserve, belongs to the Aristolochiaceae family of plants. The biologists found the specimen while looking for biological diversity.
They analysed the sample and found that the plant was entirely new to science.
The Institute of Ecology and Biological Resources archived the plant sample. – VNS
