Binh Thuan hosts mountain climbing contest

PANO – The Binh Thuan provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism kicked off the 20th Ta Cu Mount Climbing Competition on February 14th.

The event drew the participation of 342 athletes from Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Thuan, Ba Ria-vung Tau, Lam Dong, Binh Phuoc and Binh Duong provinces.

The runners competed in categories of 6.300m (running 4.000m and climbing 2.300m) for men, and 5.300m (running 3.000m and climbing 2.300m) for women. Finally, athletes Hoang Nguyen Thanh and Dang Cam Tu, both from Binh Phuoc province, pocketed] first prize for their events.

The competition is a traditional sports activity to develop a sports training movement and create a cheerful, enthusiastic and healthy atmosphere in the first days of the Lunar New Year.
