The hosts’ goals were scored by Phung Trong Luan and Nguyen Minh Tri (two each) and Nguyen Bao Quan.

The two sides will meet again at Thai Son Nam Gymnasium today.

The match is being held in preparation for the 2016 AFC Futsal Championship finals, which is scheduled to be held from February 10 to 21 in Uzbekistan.

At the AFC event, Viet Nam are in Group C with Thailand, Hong Kong and Tajikistan, while Malaysia are in Group D with Japan, Australia and Qatar.

Sixteen teams will play in the tournament, which acts as the AFC qualifier for the World Cup.

The top five teams will qualify for the 2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup, which will be held in Colombia.
