Activities to welcome Party congress

PANO – Currently, the public, organizations, and localities nationwide are eagerly carrying out activities in celebration of the 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (National Party Congress), which has been scheduled to take place from January 20th to 28th.

* On the afternoon of January 19th, Hanoi’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism introduced cultural and artistic activities to welcome the 12th National Party Congress. The activities include major artistic performances at 8pm on January 21st at Ly Thai To Park (Hoan Kiem district), in front of the People’s Committee of Ha Dong district, and in Son Tay town’s Park. Apart from these performances, there are also artistic performances held by 30 districts of the capital on January 21st and 22nd and at 8pm on the closing day of the congress.

* The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in association with the People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue, held a water storing ceremony for Thuy Yen Reservoir in Loc Thuy commune, Phu Loc district. The VND 654 billion project was kicked off in August 2010, aiming at providing water for 460 hectares of farmland and Chan May-Lang Co Economic Zone at a capacity of 20,000 cubic meters of water/day.

* To serve the 12th National Party Congress, Hanoi Power Corporation has set up a plan to ensure safety, continuity, stability and quality of power supply for the whole capital during the congress. For key locations, power is supplied via two channels, the national grid and generators or UPS backup units. The corporation has also set up plans to respond to any electrical situations around the clock.

* On the morning of January 19th, the Police of Thanh Hoa province held a conference to implement tasks to ensure absolute safety for the 12th National Party Congress. Accordingly, the force has devised plans to maintain social order and safety, preventing complicated situations from occurring.

* The Party Committee of Division 325, Army Corps 2, has directed its units to boost emulation activities in celebration of the 12th National Party Congress, enhancing firm political and ideological stance, performing tasks well to achieve the highest results, ensuring democracy, solidarity, and strict observance of discipline so as to maintain high combat readiness and vigilance.
