(VOV) – Chess Grandmaster Le Quang Liem ranked 33rd in November world men’s rankings, announced the World Chess Federation (FIDE).

In October, GM Liem won the annual SPICE Cup Open, the highest rated international invitational tournament in the US, and taken home US$5,000 of cash prize. Earlier, he was runner-up of the Millionaire Chess Tournament in Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, Liem entered the second round of the World Cup 2015 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The three tournaments helped his Elo rise from 2,697 in October rankings to 2,818 in November rankings. His position then climbed from 50th to 33rd in the world men’s rankings.

He now targets to be listed in the world’s Top 30.

Liem’s teammate, Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son added 8.4 points to his Elo to gain total 2,642 of Elo because he entered the second round of World Cup 2015. Son is currently placed 123rd in the world men’s rankings.
