Vice Chairman of the PPC Le Quang Thich speaks at the conference
On September 18, the department of Health held a conference to review the national target program of population – family planning in the period 2011- 2015.
Deputy Director of the national department of population – family planning Le Canh Nhac, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Quang Thich, representatives of the departments and agencies attended the conference.
Within 05 years, the operations of population and family planning have achieved significant results with high efficiencies. In period of 2011 – 2015, the population growth rate was lower than planned.
The newborn sex rate was reduces to 112 boys/100 girls in 2015 from 117 boys/100 girls in 2011.
The crude birth rate reduction in the period lowered to 0.2%. The rate of third child birth also reduced to 11.4%.
Addressing at the conference, Vice Chairman Le Quang Thich acknowledged and highly appreciated the results gained by cadres and staffs in the sector of population-family planning during the recent years.
In the time to come, Thich stressed that the health sector should continue to promote propagation, mobilization, education and counseling activities in rural areas with unstable birth rate, areas with high birth rate, and areas meeting with socio-economic difficulties and special socio-economic difficulties.
Besides, the health sector has to adopt intervention models and measures in order to improve population quality as well, Thich said.
