PANO – The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued an overall plan to compile a national dossier to nominate Then singing of the Tay, Nung and Thai minority ethnic groups as intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

Particularly, the Vietnam National Academy of Music is responsible for working with other composers including the communities of the ethnic minorities (Tuyen Quang, Bac Kan, Bac Giang, Cao Bang, Dien Bien, Ha Giang, Lai Chau, Lang Son, Lao Cai, Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen and Yen Bai provinces).

It aims to popularize the cultural values of Then singing to local people and international friends as well as raise the public awareness and responsibility in preserving and developing the heritage.

The dossier should be compiled before February 28th 2016.
