“Korea through Vietnamese artist’s eyes” painting competition Related image(s)

(CPV) - A painting contest entitled “Korea through Vietnamese artist’s eyes” will be launched on October 1st by the Korean Cultural Centre (KCC) in Hanoi and Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The first ever contest for painters under 35, aims to bring a deeper insight into Korean culture to the Vietnamese public via the work of Vietnamese painters as well as promote cultural exchanges between the two countries.

Mr Park Nark Jong, KCC Director said in a press briefing in Hanoi on August 5th that he hoped the contest would be a good opportunity for young painters to show their love and talent for art as well as their understanding of the Republic of Korea.

Candidates can send files of their high quality easel painting works over the internet to trungtamvanhoahanquoc@gmail.com, subjecting “For Korea through Vietnamese artist’s eyes” painting competition, from October 1st-10th, 2015 for the first round, including scanned identity card or birth certification. These works do not participate in any contests/competitions.

A jury panel of top painters from Korea and Vietnam will decide the best works and qualify the entrant to the second round, then directly sending or postal mailing to KCC headquarter, No 49 Nguyen Du street, Hai Ba Trung district. Deadline is November 20th.

The organizing board offers one First prize (being provided all financial resources to establish a private exhibition at KCC headquarter within 2016, and a week-long exchanging tour to Korea), one Second prize (a week-long exchanging tour to Korea) all sponsored by Korea’s Hansae Group; and one Third prize, a USD300 in cash.

The final results will be announced on December 1st. Some of 70 excellent works are being exhibited from December 1st-10th, also at KCC./.
