Ticket prices for the friendly between Vietnam and Manchester City tonight are being slashed with only a few hours to kick off.

Ticket prices have been cut from VND600,000 to VND300,000.

Ticket touts are still milling around the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF)’s gate near to My Dinh National Stadium trying to sell the remaining tickets.

A young ticket broker who said he was a student at a university in Hanoi said he had decided to speculate on buying 10 tickets in Stand D for VND600,000 a piece following advice from a friend who made money from the Vietnam-Arsenal match in 2013.

“Manchester City are top English Premier League club, but for some reason they don’t have many fans in Vietnam. I’m having to sell the tickets at half price. If I fail to sell all the tickets, I’ll invite some of my friends and we’ll watch the match together,” the tout said.

Many touts are working around the stadium and with time to kick off counting down, individuals expressing an interest in tickets are being swamped, with disputes between desperate touts common.

At the official ticket store in front of the stadium, the match organisers still have tickets on sale, but touts are now offering cheaper prices.
