Picking up int’l troupes to participate into ASEAN Traditional Music Festival

(Cinet)- Decision No.2447/QĐ-BVHTTDL on July 22 of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism relates to pick up some international troupes to Vietnam to participate into the ASEAN Traditional Music Festival.

Minister of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism decided to entrust Arts Performing Organization Center of Arts Performing Department to pick up some international troupes to Vietnam to participate into the festival on July 30-August 09, 2015 in Thanh Hoa.

The first ASEAN traditional music festival 2015 titled “Connecting the World Heritage” will be held in the North central province of Thanh Hoa, Vietnam from August 1- 5.

This is a part of the National Tourism Year program to promote Viet Nam’s cultural heritage values and celebrate the establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community later in the year. It will provide a good chance for ASEAN artists to exchange experience and perceive quintessence of the regions traditional music.

The event is expected to draw the participation of 10 artistic troupes from ASEAN nations and partners including Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar,Thailand, Phillipine, Cambodia, Singapore and South Korea.

A part from official performances, participating art troupes will present their performances at several destinations in Thanh Hoa and join a seminar on ASEAN traditional music.

The festival provides an occasion for artists to introduce and honour distinctive values in the folk music from each country, cementing the relationship and unity among the bloc in the field of art and culture.

Artists attending the festival will deliver 90-minute art performances to audiences at Lam Son theatre free-of-charge, including solos, musical ensembles and folk performances.

The festival, the first of its kind in Vietnam, presents a good opportunity for artists to exchange experiences and glimpse the quintessence of the regional traditional music while deepening relations and solidarity among ASEAN countries towards the establishment of the ASEAN Community at the end of this year.
