Vietnamese wood-engraved paintings to be displayed in Japan Related image(s)

According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, an exhibition on Vietnamese wood-engraved paintings will take place in Japan from June 7th-16th.

The exhibition will showcase a collection of 110 folk wood-engraved paintings from Dong Ho painting village in the northern province of Bac Ninh; 20 Hang Trong wood-engraved paintings from Hanoi; 40 folk wood-engraved paintings from Sinh village, the central province of Thua Thien-Hue; and 20 modern wood-engraved works by Vietnamese painters from different traditional villages.

The exhibition will help Japanese people to understand the special art form from Vietnam, thus promoting Vietnam’s traditional fine art, strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the two nations, and contribute to boosting cultural exchanges and mutual understanding.

A seminar on tourism promotion will be held in Osaka, Japan by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism before the exhibition in Tokyo./.
