Vietnam southern hub wants to have helipad at headquarters

The designing plan of the new administrative center of Ho Chi Minh City must include the construction of a helipad inside its headquarters, the municipal government said in a recent fiat.

A contest will be organized to solicit designs for all construction units in the new administrative center, an 18,088-m2 area surrounded by the four major streets Le Thanh Ton, Pasteur, Ly Tu Trong and Dong Khoi in District 1, according to the municipal People’s Committee.

The committee requests that a helipad must be designed to be built inside its premises, located at 86 Le Thanh Ton Street, District 1.

In addition, an underground tunnel must be designed and built underneath Ly Tu Trong Street to connect the committee’s headquarters with the designated agencies under instructions of the city Party Committee’s Standing Board.

The committee also requests that in the future, the ground floor of the People’s Committee’s headquarters should have an area intended for displaying images and objects reflecting the achievements the city has gained in its course of development.

All design entries must meet the highest standards on construction quality, aesthetics, and environmental friendliness, it said.
