The Hanoitimes – Russia plans to provide 795 scholarships for Vietnam in 2015, up from 650 in 2014, and is going to reach the number to 1,000 in 2018.
This information was announced at the press conference held at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Hanoi on March 30 to introduce phase 3 of the “Russian Universities” educational project.
The project, implemented by the Russian Cooperation Agency in collaboration with the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training, focuses on establishing and developing direct links between universities of the two countries and attracting Vietnamese young citizens to study in Russia.
One of the main activities in phase 3 of the project is a scientific conference to celebrate the Russian Science Day held on April 2 and 3 at the Le Quy Don national technical University, with the participation of 20 universities.
Speaking at the conference, on behalf of the Russian delegation, Chairman of the Committee of International Affairs of Russian Duma Kosachev Konstantin Iosifovich underscored that the project would strengthen the scientific and cultural cooperation and friendship between Russia and Vietnam, leading to close cooperation between the scientific universities.
