New TV series features navy soldiers on HCM City Television

The Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV) began broadcasting a new TV series featuring the life and love of navy soldiers who are stationed in the seas and islands of Vietnam on February 14.

The 30-part film, Tinh Yeu Bien Dao (Love for the Seas and Islands), focuses on three young soldiers of the Naval Institute, Phong, Dang and Van, who face challenges to achieve results in work.

The film also includes live footage of the daily life of soldiers and people stationed in Truong Sa (Spartly Islands).

The HTV’s film staff spent a year filming in the seas and islands of Kien Giang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc and Con Dao.

“We met the soldiers of the Navy High Command and Nha Trang Naval Institute, and tried to make their work come alive through our film,” said the film’s director Tran Chi Thanh.

What makes this film special, Thanh said, is the topic and detailed scenes that give audiences, particularly youth, a closer view of the soldiers’ silent contributions to the country.

Tinh Yeu Bien Dao is one of several TV shows on Vietnamese seas and islands launched this year by HTV.

The film’s 15-minute parts will be broadcast on HTV9 and HTV2 every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 9:30pm.-VNA
