Phones and accessories, the first earner of over US$1 billion

VGP – Phones and accessories earned an export turnover of US$1.059 billion in the first half of January this year, becoming the first group achieving the US$1 billion export mark in 2015, according to the Viet Nam Customs.

Other items recording huge export turnover included garment with US$832 million, computers, electronics and spare parts US$575.2 million and footwear US$495 million.

In 2014, as many as 23 items participated in the US$1 billion export club.

Of them, phones and accessories and garment surpassed the US$ 20 billion export mark, with US$24.083 billion and US$20.767 billion, respectively.

Six commodities with export turnover exceeding US$5 billion included aquaculture US$7.867 billion, crude oil US$7.184 billion, footwear US$10.218 billion, wood and wooden products US$6.099 billion, machines and equipment US$7.263 billion, and vehicles and tools US$5.479 billion.
