Over 1million units of blood donated in 2014

The National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation said on January 20 that in 2014 the committee received 1,050,382 units of blood, which reached 112, 6 percent of yearly plan.

Head of the National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation Vo Dinh Vinh said this is the first year which the country received one million units of blood which met 58 percent of emergency aid and treatment demand.

Over 96 percent of the blood was from volunteer donors.
