(Cinet)- The festival which is themed Vietnam’s cultural identity is the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday as the central region has a bevy of activities on the agenda.


Some folk games and dragon dances will be held inside the Hue Citadel on February 19 (the first day of the Lunar New Year). One day later, a martial arts performance at Thai Hoa Temple and an art performance in Ngo Mon Square will be organised.


The Hue Relic Conservation Centre, the Mieu Temple and Long An Temple in Hue Citadel will beholding ritual performances and planting of a large apricot tree with colourful decorations called Cay Neu to pray for peace on February 11. Entrance to view relics at the Hue Relic Conservation Centre will be free on the first, second and third day of the Lunar New Year.


In Hoi An ancient town, a fireworks display is set to blast off on February 18 (or lunar December 30). Other activities including a calligraphy festival, an art performance, Tet tree planting festival and Bai Choi singing are also planned.


Danang is planning a flower festival and plans to host an art performance and fireworks display on the bank of Han River from 22pm-24pm on February 18 (or lunar December 30).The province is also set to organize a street festival on Bach Dang road, film screenings and Tuong singing during the Tet holiday.
