A Belarusian film titled “The Brest Fortress” has been screened in Hanoi as part of the Belarus Cultural Days in Vietnam. The film tells the story about the unyielding fight of Soviet soldiers at the Brest fortress – the country’s western-most stronghold, when the fortress became the first target of the German fascists’ attack on the Soviet Union on June 22, 1941. The screening ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment and Chairman of the Vietnam-Belarus Friendship Association, Nguyen Thai Lai; Belarusian Minister of Culture Boris Svetlov; and Belarusian Ambassador to Vietnam Valery Sadokho, among others. Deputy Minister Lai expressed his delight at the socio-economic development achievements Belarus has gained over the past years, affirming that Vietnam is always grateful for Belarus’s support for Vietnam during its struggle for liberation in the past and its national construction and development at present./. |
