The Monsoon Music Festival 2014, which will feature around 100 local and international artists, will take place for the first time in Hanoi from October 2 to 4.
Artists from countries such as Denmark, the UK, France, Belgium, South Korea and Japan, including Moroccan percussionist Rhani Krija alongside English singer Sting, Swedish keyboardist Martin Hedin, and Vietnamese-French jazz guitarist Nguyen Le, will showcase their skills at the festival.
The musical event will take place from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm each day, and is expected to draw some 10,000 visitors each night.
The October 2 night will air live on national television channel VTV.
Before the performances, other activities will also be held, including exchanges on local and international music, and street music performances.
The fest has been selected by the Hanoi People’s Committee as one of the cultural events to mark the 60th anniversary of the capital’s liberation (October 10, 1954).
