(VOV) – At least 20 tourists aboard a passenger bus have been hospitalised after a head-on collision between the bus and a truck on National Highway 1A in Nghe An province on July 6.
The bus which was carrying a group of 39 tourists from Hanoi was said to crash into a truck in opposite direction in Nghi Yen commune, Nghi Loc district, at around 06.00am.
All the passengers are old age pensioners from Phu Dong commune, Gia Lam district on the outskirts of Hanoi, who were on a summer holiday in Nghe An province.
The powerful crash seriously damaged the front parts of both the bus and the truck.
The bus driver trapped in the cabin and 20 other passengers were admitted to 115 general hospital of Ngha An province for emergency treatment.
Most victims suffered injuries in legs, arms and faces. Five seriously injured, including the bus driver, were brought to a centrally-run hospital.
